With a strong year ahead, the Super Young of the year category is shaping up to be a hot topic.
The 2018 season will feature several new stars to watch.
First up is Nnamdi Asomugha, who led the NFL in tackles and tackles for loss for a third straight season.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder, who is one of the top athletes in the country, had an excellent 2018 season.
He led the league in tackles, TFL, and total QB pressures, all for the second straight year.
He also tied for the league lead with five interceptions and led the Saints in sacks.
Nnam di Asomaughb, the NFL’s No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 draft, has a very impressive resume.
He finished with 1,892 tackles, 20 interceptions, and 14 forced fumbles in 2019.
He had a career year with nine tackles for losses and nine quarterback pressures.
He was also named to the Pro Bowl.
The NFLPA also praised Asomoughs production in the 2019 season, with him being named to its All-Pro team and a finalist for the Defensive Player of the Decade.
Ndamukong Suh, the former Miami Dolphins star who led his team in tackles in 2020, has already had a very strong year in 2021.
He has been named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Week for the first time in his career, as well as the NFL Defensive Rookie of Week for his performance.
His performance earned him a spot on the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-Decade Team.
Ntasum Bell, who became the first player in NFL history to record four sacks in the same season, had another strong season.
Bell led the Titans in tackles for a second straight season, and he also led the team in TFLs and QB pressures.
Bell finished with nine quarterback hits, including two on his way to becoming the first defensive lineman in NFL History to have at least two defensive players reach the 1,000-tackle mark.
He tied for first in sacks, T10th in total QB hits, and T11th in QB pressures for the Titans.
Asomunga has a great resume with six Pro Bowls to his name.
He made the Pro-Bowl in 2017, and had a stellar campaign in 2018.
He set career highs in tackles (665), TFL (29), sacks (20), and forced fums (three).
He also had one forced fumble.
In 2017, he set a career high with 9.5 sacks, including his first in a season.
Nwannabe rookie Marcus Mariota had a breakout year in 2020.
He ended the year with 11 tackles for the third consecutive season and also recorded 11 quarterback hits.
Mariota was a finalists for the NFL MVP award.
He played his first full season in the NFL and set career highs in sacks (16), tackles (130), TFC (12), TBL (10), and QB hits (11).
He tied a career-high with nine QB hits.
In 2020, he had a combined 17 sacks, nine TFL and six QB hits in 12 games.
In 2021, he tied a new franchise record with six sacks and six TFL.
The Titans won the AFC West and had their best record in a decade.
They finished the season ranked fifth in the AFC in total defense (285.2), tied for fourth in scoring defense (28.6), and third in total offense (266.2).
Asomoughb also had a standout season in 2020 after coming off the bench for the Vikings, which gave him a strong opportunity to become the first Titans player in the franchise’s history to be named to multiple All-Star teams.
As a rookie, he was named to his first Pro Bowl and the NFLPA’s All Pro team, and also was named the MVP of the league.
Nthony Eubanks, who had a solid season in 2021, was named AFC Offensive Rookie.
He recorded 1,068 tackles, 13.5 TFL for the Texans, tied for seventh in the league with 11 sacks, and was named a final pick in Pro Football Focus’ Pro Bowl voting.
Eubank also tied a franchise record for most tackles by a player with 11.
He is the first offensive lineman to record 11 TFL in a career.
In 2019, he led the Texans with 10 TFL as well.
Eustachy had a strong season with nine TBLs and was also a finalistic selection for the Pro Bowler award.
In 2018, Eustachys career-best with 12 TFL was the fourth-best by a guard.
Euso had a phenomenal season, averaging 8.5 tackles for every carry, 10 TBL, and two sacks.
He surpassed the NFL record for sacks with seven.
