Washington teen soccer player arrested after video surfaces of him punching man
An 18-year-old Washington, DC, teen soccer athlete has been arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence, and interference with a federal investigation, authorities said Friday.
Jordan Wylie, 18, was arrested at his home and is scheduled to appear in court Monday, the FBI said.
Wylie was charged in a court document with assault with violence against a spouse, a felony, and interfering with a Federal Bureau of Investigation investigation.
He also faces a charge of obstruction of justice.
The arrest comes as the FBI investigates the case of a 20-year old man who was shot in the face in a domestic dispute between his parents in August.
He died of his injuries, but the case remains under investigation.
Wyrndle is a sophomore on the Washington University’s football team.
He is an avid football fan and is the captain of the women’s soccer team.
