A German police official has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 15-year-old boy, the prosecutor’s office said.
The incident took place in the eastern city of Neustadt in December 2016.
A judge said that the defendant had acted out of fear for his life after the suspect was approached by the victim’s father and asked if he wanted to kill his son.
The defendant’s father had threatened to kill the teenager.
The prosecutor’s spokesman, Ulrich Rehm, said in a statement that police had searched the home and found the 15-yr-old’s body, which had been stabbed with a sharpened stick.
