Her death was ruled a homicide.
In her last moments, she said, “I just wanted to be with you guys.”
“I just want to hug you,” she said.
“I’m here with you, and I want to give you hugs.”
The vigil will be held at 9 a.m.
Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 811 W. Main St., Fargo.
The vigil is free, but donations to the fund are welcome.
“The family and friends of Meredith McWilliams want to offer our heartfelt condolences and heartfelt prayers for Meredith’s family, friends and loved ones,” said Laura Johnson, executive director of the Fargo Youth Employment Coalition.
“This is a time for our youth to be reminded of the value of being a positive role model and a role model for others.”
The fund to pay for the vigil will come from the city’s youth employment fund.
